Happy New Year!!

What an amazing experience this was for all of us, as well as our guests.

Although we ended 2009 with an accident were Andre fractured his shoulder, it did not stop us of having the most unforgettable New Years Eve in our lives.  I am not sure if we will ever have a full moon and an eclipse on New Years Eve in our lifetime ever again, but I would like to think that this as the only one for me.

And of course, no better place to be, than on the top of Matroosberg.  We took the legendary Bedford trucks up the Matroosberg 4x4 trail on a Sundowner trip.  We waited for the sun to set for the very last time in 2009 and was still in awe when we had to turn around to watch the full moon rising.

Once the moon was out, we waited for the partial eclipse and then started down the 4x4 trail with the moon being our only light.  Coenie why I don’t switch the trucks lights on, only to learn that the Bedford had no lights…  this was suppose to be part of the adventure!

Personally, this was an wonderful experience, one I will remember all my life.  Just sorry that Andre missed it…
